This weekend I spent some time with my good friend Anne. We picked up brunch at Lusa Bakery here in Oxford, then went to the farmer’s market, where we found some of the biggest pumpkins ever for only $4 each! We bought a couple of those, of course, which we are planning to carve sometime this week.
Afterwards, we drove west on highway 6 until we found this field of bathtubs that Anne has been wanting to visit since freshman year (lucky me, I got to go!) Of course, adventures and hilarity ensued.

Here I am in “BathtubLand” as Anne has dubbed it. And this is Anne with a silly Greek bust we found:

Afterwards, we picked cotton on the side of the road, which is something I do pretty often - makes great decorations! And then we decided to adventure over to Water Valley, MS, which is a quaint little town about 30 min outside of Oxford. There we visited their general store, which sells all sorts of neat local goodies, and their drugstore, which was reminiscent of the home section of a TJ Maxx (Anne and I were in heaven.)
Sadly, though, there was a sudden drop in temperature this weekend and all of the playing outside caused me to catch a cold, so I’m paying for the fun! But it was definitely worth spending time with a good friend.
